Dancely Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Dancely turns one photo of you into a short dance video using AI. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| The one photo you choose for a video | To create your dance video | Deleted as soon as the render finishes or fails |
| Your finished videos | So you can watch, save and share them | Stored in your private cloud folder and on your device until you delete them |
| An anonymous account ID (Firebase Anonymous Authentication) | To keep your credits and videos separate from other users' | Until you delete the app's data or ask us to delete it |
| Credit balance and purchase records (from Apple via RevenueCat) | To give you the credits you bought | As long as required for accounting and to honour non-expiring credits |
| Push notification token and app language | To tell you when a video is ready, in your language | Until you turn off notifications or delete the app |
| Usage counts and a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address | To stop abuse: limit how fast videos can be made and spot many accounts from one place. We never store the IP address itself | Until you ask us to delete your data |
| One "free video used" flag for your iPhone (Apple DeviceCheck) | So each iPhone gets one free video, even after reinstalling | Kept by Apple for this app; it contains no personal data |
We don't collect your name, email, contacts, location or anything else from your photo library. The app reads only the photo you pick, through the system photo picker.
Checks on your device
Before anything is uploaded, Dancely checks your photo on your phone with Apple's Vision framework. It confirms the photo is sharp enough, has exactly one person, and shows a face and body. These checks never leave your device.
Third-party processors
We only upload your photo after you agree on the in-app consent screen. To make the video, it's shared with:
- fal.ai (Features and Labels, Inc.), a hosted AI platform. It runs Kling, an AI video model developed by Kuaishou Technology. They receive your photo and the dance clip you picked, and return the generated video.
- Google Firebase (Google LLC), which hosts our servers, database, file storage and push notifications.
- RevenueCat, Inc. and Apple, which process in-app purchases. We never see your payment details.
These providers process data on our behalf, under their own terms and privacy policies, only to provide the service. Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Source photos: deleted automatically when the render finishes or fails. A safety job also clears any job that gets stuck.
- Videos: kept in your private storage until you delete them. Deleting a video in the app removes it from your device. Contact us to remove the cloud copy as well.
- We don't use your photos or videos to train AI models. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Your choices
- Withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy. After that, nothing is uploaded until you allow it again.
- Turn off notifications in iOS Settings.
- Delete your data: email us from the app (Settings → About) with the approximate date of your videos. We'll delete your account ID, videos and credit history.
Content rules
Only upload photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed. Our AI provider may refuse photos that break its safety rules. When that happens, your credit is refunded automatically.
Children
Dancely is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. We'll ask for your consent again in the app before any new kind of data is shared.
